Talk to your friends and family about how you will communicate before, during, and after a disaster. Talk with family members about\u00a0your emergency plan<\/a>\u00a0and make sure you are able to stay in touch when disaster strikes. Tailor your plan to your family’s needs, and be sure to consider disabilities<\/a>,\u00a0older adults<\/a>, children<\/a>,\u00a0pets<\/a>\u00a0and medical needs. It is also important to consider creating a budget that includes an\u00a0emergency savings fund.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Gather supplies that will last for several days after a disaster for everyone living in your home. Ensure\u00a0your kit is stocked<\/a>\u00a0with essential items, and don\u2019t forget to consider the unique needs each person or pet may have. These kits should also include supplies to protect you during the COVID-19 pandemic, including masks and hand sanitizer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
